¿Why Paraguay?
Lately, a notable change has been happening in Paraguay, especially in popular neighborhoods like Villa Morra and Las Lomas. So, why are so many foreigners moving here?
The reasons are compelling:
Simple, Low Taxes: Paraguay operates under a "triple 10" tax system: 10% VAT, a maximum of 10% personal income tax, and 10% corporate income tax.
Affordable Living and Operating Costs.
Simple and Fast Residency Process.
Paraguay offers two types of residency:
Temporary: Valid for up to two years and renewable. This allows you to access public services and obtain a Paraguayan ID.
Permanent: Available after a period of temporary residency or with a minimum investment of $70,000 USD. This allows for unlimited residency but requires more documentation.
The process is handled by the Immigration Office, and it requires personal documents, a criminal record certificate, a health certificate, and proof of stay or investment.
In the last decade, the guaraní has shown remarkable stability against the U.S. dollar, with a gradual but controlled depreciation that reflects a sound monetary policy and a well-managed economy. Despite external challenges, Paraguay has avoided currency crises and maintained market confidence. This stability is backed by a credit rating of Investment Grade from agencies like Fitch Ratings and S&P, confirming the country's strong macroeconomic stability and fiscal health.
Given this stability, low tax burden, and abundant opportunities, we believe it’s a smart move to migrate to Paraguay or at least consider it as a "Plan B."
So, is it a good idea? Absolutely.
